SLV to join Air Cargo Community Frankfurt

The Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association Hessen / Rhineland-Palatinate or SLV (Speditions- und Logistikverband Hessen/Rheinland-Pfalz) is joining the Air Cargo Community Frankfurt and has effectively applied for membership.

During the last meeting of air cargo forum members, Managing Director Thorsten Hölzer handed over the respective application to Joachim von Winning, Executive Director of the Air Cargo Community Frankfurt. After approval of the Board, membership will take effect immediately, and the SLV can actively engage in the work of the Community.

Joachim von Winning: “We are looking forward to the participation of the SLV in the Community. Representing the interests of over 400 organizations with over 30,000 employees, the association brings valuable know-how, working with our Competence Teams to significantly contribute to strengthening air cargo at Frankfurt.”

“We had been involved in the launch of the CargoCity-TaskForce, the predecessor organization of the Air Cargo Community Frankfurt. Consequently, we now want to continue the work in the Community. Representing small and medium-sized air freight transport companies among our members, we also will bring in their interests as well as ideas for the benefit and for the further development of the location“, explains Thorsten Hölser the SLV decision.

Air Cargo Community Frankfurt e.V.

The Air Cargo Community Frankfurt e.V. is an association of companies, institutions and organizations with the clear objective of promoting the airfreight location of Frankfurt. Its total of 38 members includes representatives of all areas of the air cargo supply chain. The association has three working groups “Temperature-controlled Transport”, “Processes & Infrastructure" and "Location Marketing & Community Building", as well as various specialist groups which represent the entire range of services offered at the airfreight location of Frankfurt. The prime objective is that the Frankfurt Airport will, also in future, continue to clearly be Europe’s No. 1 in the air freight business and, as the leading air freight hub, significantly enhance its competitiveness compared with other airports in neighbouring countries. The location of Frankfurt, today with more than 2.1 million tons of air freight (2015) and 11,600 employees in the cargo area, should also continue to grow significantly in the coming years and, in doing so, capture an even larger share of global freight volumes for itself.
